Even Superwoman needs help when she's forced to hang up her cape! Suzy & Kristen survived a tragedy that no one should have to experience.
On New Years Eve, Suzy and Kristen were shot by their stepdad in their home. Their mom, Mrs. Ginger was also shot and sadly did not survive. Kristen had to undergo open heart surgery to repair damage to her heart from the gunshot. The physicians have decided against surgery for Suzy at this time out of concern that it may do more damage than the gunshot itself.
Suzy is a Pediatric Nurse on the PEDS floor of TRMC. Kristen is a college student majoring in Education. They are Mama & Sissy to 4 year old Luke who they love more than words can describe. Suzy has taken care of this communities children for over 10 years and now it's our turn to help her!
Both girls have a long road of recovery ahead of them. Suzy will be out of work for sometime recovering and helping Kristen to recover. They will also have to move & will need a home to go home to once they are discharged from the hospital. As you can imagine, they cannot return to their home. Long after the physical scars have healed, the emotional ones of that night will remain.
