In the Name of Allah(swt), the most Gracious, the entirely Merciful

Asalamu Alaikum beloved family & friends,

We pray our greetings of love & peace reach you all in excellent faith & health. The last days of Ramadan are quickly coming to an end. The most virtuous night of Laylatul Qadr awaits us among these blessed evenings. We are all racing in the pursuit of goodness to be among those most beloved to God. In this ongoing endeavor to reconnect with Allah(swt), we wanted to share a heartfelt story centered around a humble servant of God who desires no recognition.

Havi bin Ali is a soft-spoken servant of God who walks gently on the earth, always striving to spread love, kindness and peace. A gentleman who places deep value in upholding the ties of kinship. He selflessly dedicated his youth and adulthood in the service of his elderly father. His father, Ali Nguyen, was also committed to spreading love & service to all those around him. Mr. Nguyen spent the last 20 years of his life as a caretaker for the Masjid in Phan Rang, Vietnam. Together, Ali & Havi worked diligently to clean and maintain God’s house with excellence. They found great purpose in nurturing a space for those who pursued spiritual nourishment. Their very simple lifestyle enabled them to fulfill the rights of these responsibilities. There was a small shack located on the premises of the Masjid. For his service, Ali was granted housing privileges that provided his family shelter. He always expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity and ability to fulfill his responsibilities to his family and community.

Tragedy struck the Nguyen family with the recent passing of Ali. All familial responsibilities fell upon Havi. He became the sole provider for his wife, 2 children and newly widowed mother. Due to unforeseen circumstances with management of the community, they also lost their housing privileges. Havi had to find temporary shelter for his family with a close family member. While grieving, he struggled with this new transition. He sought strength and courage through patience and prayer. After tireless efforts in seeking honest ways to provide for his family, he was blessed with employment at a food production company, where he cleaned and packaged seafood. He was finally able to afford medical expenses for his young son, who suffered from a heart disease. Unfortunately, this blessing was short-lived. With the advent of the Corona virus pandemic, Havi lost his job. However, he remained content and hopeful with God’s decree.

Even in the midst of tribulation and loss, God’s grace & mercy remains infinite. Touched by his resilience and good character, a generous donor gifted Havi a small plot of land in hopes of alleviating some of his current struggles. Also inspired by Havi’s story and graciousness, we recognized a worthy opportunity to pursue God’s love and pleasure, through serving this honest & kind-hearted man. We aspire to raise enough funds to help Havi build a home for his family to ensure stability and independence. With God’s will, this kind gesture will give Havi the means to rightfully fulfill the obligations he has upon his family. Provision & prosperity lies within the ultimate provider, Ar- Razzaq. We are just given opportunities to be agents of alleviation. Please join us in this pursuit to gain God’s love & mercy, by giving a voice to Havi’s story. Share with friends and family! May all of our efforts this month be a means of purification for our heart, mind & soul. May Allah (swt) keep all of our hearts steadfast & firm in faith.

Jazakallahu Khayr for your time!

With so much Love & Gratitude,
