Homes Lost in Colorado Fires - The Levinsons

Hi, my name is Denise Anderson and live in York, PA. My husband Kent (Andy) and I are raising funds to help rebuild the lives of our family in Colorado - The Levinson Families

We are sure you’ve seen on the news the last few days, the devastating fires that have destroyed entire neighborhoods, in Louisville and Superior, with very little notice and in such a short time. Hurricane force winds, a downed transformer mixed with extremely dry conditions created the perfect storm, altering the lives of so many. It’s all so sad. The photo I’ve used shows a driveway leading to pile of burnt rubble and ash that used to be my sister’s home. The entire neighborhood has burnt to the ground displacing everyone.

If you personally know my sister Jen and her husband Mark, you know they would give you the shirts off their backs in a heartbeat. They value family, good people and experiences more than things. Unfortunately, they now find themselves without the home where they raised their children, had countless family memories and sentimental items held onto, to remind them of parents loved and lost. The dog and just the few things they were able to grab on the way out (while fire burned across the street) are all that are left.

Eric (Mark’s brother), Les and their boys had a home in Superior, not too far away. I’ve been told, fire spread through the flat land area behind their house and had quickly made it to their backyard fence, so they had to get out immediately. They evacuated with their animals and the clothing on their backs. Sadly, everything else is gone.

So many people have reached out in different ways offering help to both families, which is beautiful and overwhelming, as they process what’s happened. We feel this is outside of the way this family normally operates. Most comfortable giving help - not asking for or accepting it. Now that the realization of starting over is sinking in and after conversation, they have allowed us to set up this Go Fund Me on their behalf. All funds raised will be used to help restart both Levinson families (clothing, temporary housing, food, and other necessities) while giving an opportunity for those whose hearts feel squeezed, by this tragedy, some way to help.

We are thankful for the lives of our family and for your time and consideration.
