My mother and I along with my two nieces and younger sister was recently evicted from our apartment home back in May 2021. Before the eviction, we struggled to pay our monthly expenses such as food, water, rent, utility bills, life insurance, etc. We couldn't hold on any longer. A payment arrangement was not in question when it came to our past due balance. Therefore, we were evicted and forced to stay in a 1Bed, 1Bath extended stay living. The cost of living here is more than what we previously paid at our apartment. Our weekly rent is $249 and a $50 late fee if it isn't paid on time. We've been searching for apartment homes to rent in the area and had some luck with quit a few. Our only challenge is that we don't have the necessary funds for moving in and getting help with the cost of living for the first two or three months until we're able to handle it ourselves. My mother and I have legal custody of my nieces due to the passing of my sister in 2018. Sometimes we struggle with food and transportation now that we don't have a car anymore. Our storage units has been in danger of being auctioned off to the public twice because we haven't been able to make the payments on time. We're desperately reaching out for help, guidance, and assistance on this matter.
