Homeless woman living in her car in Maple Grove

I’m Nicole and have lived in this area since the 1990’s. Through Facebook I became aware of a middle aged woman living in her car in a local parking lot (for her safety - I’m not disclosing her location). I have been working for the last several weeks to help her navigate some assistance for medical and emergency food support. We’ve got that taken care of, now we need to worry about shelter. Everything she owns is in the car she is sleeping in and some storage unit. She is in arrears on her storage and will have to let her things go if they aren’t moved or the bill isn’t paid by this weekend. She is also still sleeping in her car, which isn’t even running to be able to warm her up. While she is working on housing and on several wait lists for shelters - I worry about her with the temperatures being so cold. She just started a new job this week, so she is working on goals.

I have started this so that if any of you have it on your hearts to offer her any assistance to get her through the next few weeks until she gets a paycheck and months while she gets back on her feet and a place of her own. I wouldn’t normally do a go fund me, but I know she’s running out of options and I can only do so much.

Please know that any funds raised here will go to shelter, car repair, and hopefully first and last months deposit on a new place. I am trying to negotiate a payment with the storage facility as well. This woman did receive previous assistance and can be verified with Blessings Box of Minnesota. Due to many others needing assistance and it being close to the holidays and families needed to be adopted, they are not able to help further financially at this time.

To keep everything honest - I will oversee any and all funds and pay them out directly (shelter, repair, storage, bills, etc.) and keep records to reflect that.
