Homeless vet and family needs assistance
Donation protected
My name is Mary Ann and last night I received a call from a homeless vet. He, his wife, grandmother and 4 young children were without a place to stay, again. He is working at a good job, but his PTSD has prevented him from steady work (until now). The family has been staying in and out of hotels, friends' places, but mainly their car. The one 18 month old twin now cannot straighten his neck because of having to sleep in his car seat.
Every government agency, nonprofit and community funded organization we contacted is unable to help him. He is either 'making too much money', does not qualify or they cannot accommodate his family. He is truly stuck in the gap. He is trying very hard to get his life straightened out, but needs a little help. Last night he and his family 'ate dinner' at the local mini mart, filled the car with $10 in gas and has $6 left to his name.
I was able to get him into a hotel last night and tonight with some money for food and essentials in the hope that on Friday yet another agency can help him.
So, I ask you, particularly on Veterans Day, to please help. If you are not able to contribute (no amount will be refused), I ask that you share this on your page in the hope that a company or individual will donate. I am trying to raise $5000 so that he can put a deposit down on an apartment and pay for a couple of months rent until he can get on his feet.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
