hola. I’m a homeless person trying to raise enough money for a used car.

from 2020-23 I was traveling across the country, mostly living in my car. I was in St Louis for a year, then Denver, then Vegas. Mostly I just worked all the time because it was expensive. I did DoorDash and Uber.

My car broke down in Vegas. I thought it was just the battery and spent all the money I had on a new one but that wasn’t it. It was very frustrating because I had paid cash for this car just a year before I went on the road. It was a 2009 Corolla. It was the fourth Toyota I’ve owned and all the others lasted way longer. Oh well, right?

Anyway, ever since then I’ve been living on the street in San Diego. For the past year I’ve been trying to get a job but literally nobody hires homeless people, even though I’m extremely well qualified for all kinds of jobs. I’ve had interviews and even McDonald’s won’t hire me.

previously in my life I’ve never had a problem getting a job. I’ve never had an interview and not been offered the job but understandably no one wants to take a risk on someone who doesn’t know where they’re sleeping.

if I could just get a car again I could go back to work with DoorDash and Uber and have a place to sleep.
