Homeless man in need of kind souls

Donation protected
Hey … ummm. We have been trying to take wood to local who lives just out side of town. Maybe some of you have seen him bundled up walking to/from Regina food bank etc… his current situation is staying in a deserted house without any utilities whatsoever. We took him to Husky house last week to shower/landry and brought him home. Last winter he got frost bite on his feet. They wanted to cut his toes off. This is how he lives day in/out. We brought him some more wood tonight. His toes are going black. He loves and cares for injured animals when they need help. Hes lived a hard life. Some by personal choices. Some not by. Now hes elderly and was just cleared of Cancer by his Dr last week. He has a new lease on life. He wants good. Anyways, we cant stand to see him stay where he is again through Jan & Feb living on the cold basement floor of a house without utilities. Maybe ive said to much but i want to let people know the situation. Plz dont share his name here if you know it. Anyways ive talked to the fellow at the hotel. Hes given me a special price. Ive paid up for 30days. There will be another month or two to follow untill winter passes. Hes not on walfare. He has zero!!! If theres some kind souls out there that would like to help cover some of the room expenses…. Plz private message me if youd like to keep this discrete. The hotel was kind enough to allow him and his 4 legged companion stay for special price. Feeling very great full for that right now. Plz keep any negative comments to yourself.

Edit- (Wednesday night)
There was some misunderstanding. The hotel we have him at said they didn't realize it was 2 dogs. Two dogs are not welcome for “long stays”. We will have to relocate him into Regina. The rates will go up now. He's ok where he is till the 26th. We have been making many phone calls trying to find a program for him. He's clean, sober and warm. The 2 dogs are naturally his family and need him as much as he needs them. He said while he's been in a warm bed hes been reflecting on his past and wondering how hes survived as long as he has in the conditions hes been staying in. Tonight we took him to the grocery store and got him pumpkin pie, and a few other things. Another donated asked her money get dog food/treats. Those were picked up. And another person donated a big big bag of dog kibble. Another from a vet has offered to check up and vaccinate his dogs. Yesterday some soaps and shampoo with toiletries. Along with some light clothing and a coat. He was happy to be in some clean clothes also today when we briefly saw him. Someone else has offered a Christmas supper. Another person wants to take him to Regina to visit his dad in care. Another has offered to drop off more toiletries, clothes, pet supplies.

To everyone of you who is helping make this happen… Thank You!!! You have no idea the positive impact you have made with your donation (no matter the size). Anything let over will go towards other items he may need once in a permanent home, or any other items needed between now and then. More updated in the coming days. :)

Edit: Thursday night Dec 22
Well the only place in Regina that will allow him with 2 dogs and daily pet fees is going to be $2,000 per month hotel in Regina plus pet fees. We took him shopping again. He got a blueberry pie this evening, milk, popcorn, pizza pops. Hes craving porkchops but no way to cook at the current hotel. Pork chops coming soon !!!! Oh and where hes at now they are going to charge the $50/day now for the dogs till the 26th. You are all wonderful people for making this happen for him. We deliver the bad new then some good new to him. I hope this rest of this goes smooth with more good and less bad news. We will also be focusing on getting him all of his personal ID in order. I think hes just taken so many hits over the years … it compiles over time and really got him down. No car or transportation to from… no problem buddy we got this and will get you there !!!! No way to get prescription filled? We all here got this !!!

It was really nice to see him smiling often this evening!!!

Edit: Friday(evening) December 23rd
After we got back to town and went to his room we took him to the store again and gave him permission to load up anything he needed. Today it was just coffee that he was wanting. He said he had just ate and was feeling good. Just a coffee.
Melanie had arranged drop off at our store/shop location and some kind souls dropped off some wrapped gifts for him. Mel also went and picked up a cell phone someone donated for him. She also went and picked up massive Xmas supper and more clothing and wool blanket from another donation. We will take the donations to him tomorrow. We plan to get the phone hooked up and a pile of mins put on it with the funds also. It’s important for him to have a phone number of his own.

Edit: Saturday (evening) December 24th
Melanie and I attended his location to visit, and drop off the clothing and food thats been collected so far. We visited for 2.5hrs. He's very grateful for everyones food and clothing. I asked him when was the last time you opened a wrapped gift. He said it’s probably been 20 years. Since his mom was alive would of been the last time. Oh and the RCMP pulled up while were visiting and the officer donated a nice puffer jacket. He said he would be back in the following days with with other items for him and his dogs.
I went back late evening to visit for a bit. Hes doing fine!

Edit: Sunday (evening)
Another update, as I know many have been asking and wondering. Getting close to the deadline for the 26th when our friend needs to leave where he's at and I finally got confirmation tonight that the hotel in Regina will allow him to be there without his ID, although they normally require it. So we can breathe a sigh of relief. Speaking to the gifts he received… He asked how he could thank everyone and Melanie said she would pass along his thanks and gratitude. So thanks again for the help! I imagine things will slow down a little now as we work on getting him hooked up with an organization that will help him with a long term solution. Or struggles in another way but at least lodging is covered while that is worked on and toward Happy holidays everyone⛄

Thank you so much ☺️

Oh and we collected/picked up/received :
- a physical pick up of $100 cash.
- an etransfer of $100.
- a 2nd etransfer of $720 that matched this gofundme amount when it was $720.
- iphone
- food
- xmas dinner
- clothing
