Homeless in Florida

Hi everyone. Thank you for even taking the time to read this. Most of you know Jimmy and I relocated to Florida in September to try to live the second half of our lives finally happy. After 6 failed spinal surgeries, 2 sets of spine hardware, sepsis, getting clean and staying clean for almost 11 years, burying his dad and losing my brother, Jimmy falling off a roof, we felt like we needed change. We worked so hard at getting clean and building a life but nothing was getting better back home in ri. So we saved, sold what we could and packed a 26’ Uhaul and packed us snd the dogs and drove down. From the minute we got off that Florida exit, EVERYTHING has gone horrible wrong. Jimmy is working hard like he always has but is making not even half what he was up north, rent is almost twice what we were paying, and I have to rent a car through Avis and Uber to work which is killing us but without it neither of us work and again, it’s not like ri…everything is so far apart here. Our new landlord has been patient and worked with us but $1900 a month is hard when you’re not bringing in the cash and landlord still has bills to pay so this month we couldn’t pull it out. We paid almost half but we did get evicted. I’ve never been evicted in my life neither has Jimmy. So as of Wednesday we have nowhere to go and can’t live in the car because I do Uber with it so we have to go to a motel. We found one that is pet friendly but the want $700 a week upfront. We don’t have that because we have to get a storage and a uhaul and pay guys to help us move. I don’t care about myself but jimmy works so hard to not be able to lay down on a bed or take a shower after work. And out dogs deserve a place to lay. I know everyone is struggling right now and if you can’t spare anything I totally understand but prayers are just as valuable. Please, no judgements. I don’t think I can sink any lower than I have and am barely hanging on as it is. Please share if you feel like it and again, thank you so much for even reading my story.
