My name is Brenda Klug and my parents Bill and Sandy Ferris have worked their entire lives to build a modest (1,000 square foot home) on their beloved piece of property in CA. My dad worked 20 years as a security guard at a local high school and is now retired. My mom has been working for 40 years as a self-employed hair stylist. She has been out of work for over a month due to the COVID crisis. My parents have been trying to build their home for over a year and have been living in a 100 square foot storage space with no restroom or cooking facilities. Life has been hard. The build has been long and stressful. My dad has done much of the build by himself. My parents were finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when in the middle of the night their life savings were taken by an unknown burglar. $20,000 dollars was gone in the blink of an eye and my parents have been left with nothing. Their dream is to have a home to grow old in. A home where they can enjoy their grandchildren and watch them grow. I just want my parents to have a roof over their heads. Please help if you can!
