“From the Streets to Stability: Hope for Ian & Coco”
On the busy streets of New York City, Ian and his puppy Coco are fighting to survive. Ian has been homeless for nearly a year. His days are filled with uncertainty, hunger, and exhaustion, but through it all, one thing never changes—his love for Coco.
Coco is just 10 months old, but Ian has cared for her since she was a baby. She is more than a dog—she is family. When Ian speaks about her, his face lights up with love. He told me he would give up his last meal to make sure Coco is fed before himself. She is his comfort on the hardest days, his reason to keep moving forward.
But Coco isn’t the only one who gives Ian strength. Ian also has a 17-year-old daughter whom he loves more than anything in this world. He speaks with her often, but she does not know that her father is homeless. He hides his struggles from her because he wants to be strong for her. His greatest wish is to rebuild his life—not only for Coco, but so he can be the father his daughter needs and deserves.
What Ian Needs
Ian is doing his best to turn his life around. He is in recovery, attending a program to stay sober, and working every day to fight back against depression and despair. But living on the streets makes everything harder. Without stability, it is nearly impossible for him to get a job or plan for the future.
