Recently my father who has dementia was living with me for the last 4 years after my mom passed away.
On August 24th We left Mississippi where we had been living to move to Chattanooga TN for a job and to buy a small chunk if ground to homestead. I put everything of ours in a rented storage unit in Chattanooga.
We decided that since we couldn't get the land until Sept 1st we'd just go camping and enjoy nature.
We weren't there in the state park a full 24 hours when my father had a violent episode and just jumped in his truck and left. After about 3 hours I got very worried something happened. I called the Parks eangers station explained what happened and they said they'd be in touch. The next morning the Rangers came to the camp site and said that my dad drove all the way to Alden Iowa where my brother lives and where we are from. Leaving me stranded in the mountains and with no vehicle or money as my purse was in the truck. But lucky enough I had my drivers license in my back pack.
Here my dog and myself are now stranded in the hills of Tennessee with no vehicle no money and little food.
The next day the ranger said he was able to reach my dad back in Iowa because my phone was totally dead.
He said my dad planned to come back in 3 days for me which made it Sept. 1st.
I waited for 3 days just me and my dog...when he finally did show up my brother was also with him.
They helped me load up my camping gear and we went to Chattanooga (61 miles away) to the storage shed.
My brother who we don't get a long very good, and my dad started loading up out of the unit just my dad's stuff.
I asked what they were doing and that's when my brother said that Dad was going back to Iowa to stay with him and his wife.
So now I am left once again in a storage lot just me and my dog. I only had enough money on me to rent a budget truck ($278) and to get me at least back to Mississippi. Figured I could re-rent the house I just left.
That wasn't the case at all. So now I had to change those plans and I have a great girlfriend who lives in Homosassa Florida who just said to come to her place and we will figure this out.
I did. Now I'm here in Florida and Im complete disaster because I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I can't stay with her more than 4 days because she's in a 55+ mobile home park and the Parks rule don't allow guests for more than 4 days at a time. And my time is up to stay with her.
I think it's best I just go back to Iowa. I hate being so far away from my dad.
I need to rent another budget truck or Uhaul but I don't have the funds for it.
I'd need funds to put gas along the 22 hour trip and food for my dog and myself.
I have been so depressed and crying non stop...I miss my father whom I've been with day in and day put for the last 4 years...and I'm constantly worried about him. Bit Im also scared to death here in Florida because If I don't figure out what to do soon I'm going to be homeless.
Anything will help. If I could pay you back when I get back to Iowa I will.
