Greetings! Thank you for visiting this GoFundMe. I am here to raise some emergency funds for a 71 year old grandmother that has been the victim of identify theft and as a result was evicted from her home of 20 years and lost her two grandchildren that she was caring for.
This wonderful woman works for my family as a home health aide to my 94-year old grandmother as well as other families. She works 6 days a week, over 50 hours and earns minimum wage, all while caring for her 8 and 6 year old grandchildren. A few years ago her daughter and son-in-law were killed in a motor vehicle accident, leaving her the sole caregiver for her grandchildren. She has been with our family for over 3 years and has become part of our family. In March we learned that she was the victim of identity theft and her social security benefits were being stolen from her account, as a result her rent checks did not clear and despite her taking extra shifts up to 80 hours a week, the landlord refused to take her payments and started the legal proceedings to have her evicted. My mother and I have come together to put her electricity back on after being illegally shut off. But it all became too much for her and she had to send her grandchildren away to live with an aunt in Florida. She is devastated to say the least and completely overwhelmed. We helped her pack up her apartment and rented a storage unit for her, but she does not have the means or support to afford a new place to live. Your help would mean that this grandma would be able to get back on her feet and find a safe, clean, and comfortable place to live and hopefully get her grandchildren back. Please help in anyway that you can. With much love and gratitude, Fawziah
