Homeless 13 Years — Help Me Pay Off My Debt & Go Home
Donación protegida
Hey there, my name is Brycen McPherson, and I come from Washington state, although I'm currently living in Michigan. I really don't like asking for help. I spent 13 years being homeless before I asked someone for help, and now, 4 years later, I'm asking for help again.
After being homeless on and off since I was 3 years old, I finally reached out to some wonderful friends, and one of them helped me move in with his elderly parents to help them at home and do chores around their house. Thanks to him, his parents, and a lot of hard work, I finally got a truck — a 2010 Ford Ranger — about a year ago, that’s been my lifeline and has completely changed my life. It gets me to work, helps me stay independent, and honestly, it’s the one thing that’s kept me from sliding back into homelessness and is my backup if I become homeless again.
But now, everything’s falling apart. I got Mono, Strep throat, rhabdomyolysis, and severe muscle inflammation that landed me in the hospital for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, my truck has slowly been breaking down - first it was the tires popping, and then the entire steering rack breaking all it's seals. Then the control arm was about to fall out when I was getting an alignment for new tires. But then, worst of all, the transmission gave out completely.
I’ve already paid off the $3,440 for the truck, but I still owe Bill, the wonderful elderly gentleman who has been letting me live in his basement for 4 years, $5,854.56. He’s been incredibly patient, but I can’t let this debt hang over me any longer. I miss my friends, my little sisters, and my life back home, and I don't want to leave without paying back Bill what he is properly owed.
What I've Paid:
-Truck: $500
-Initial Repairs: $2,000
-Wheels: $446
-Steering Rack: $600
-Control Arm: $340/$788.92
What I need to pay:
-Rest of the control arm above
-Transmission: $2,250.38
-Transmission Labor cost: $605.66
-Fluids: $104.60
-Plus $2,445 in Car Insurance back payments.
If you can help, even a little, like sharing, would be absolutely incredible, and I couldn't thank you enough. But don't do so if you can't afford to do it. Just sharing this link anywhere or getting someone to share my link would do wonders for me with the algorithm.
Thank you for reading my story and for any help you can give; even just reading this far means a lot.
