January 10, 2021 @ 10:11AM our mom, Leona Williams, transitioned to her final resting place.  She was a very strong woman and fought a long fight.  In September of 2020, our mom suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke and I was told she wasn’t going to make it. However, being the fighter I know her to be she pulled through although it left her unable to speak.  She was going through speech and occupational therapy and seemed to be coming along. Until December 27,  2020 when she tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized as she was running a fever and having difficulty breathing.  Three days later she was sent back to the skilled nursing facility as her breathing had improved.  I’m not sure if she was discharged from the hospital prematurely as she began to experience difficulty breathing again and was readmitted to the hospital on January 6, 2021.  At that time our mom’s oxygen level continued to decrease.  The doctors advised me she had COVID pneumonia and her right lung was full of fluid.  We thank God for the doctor that made it possible for my brother Dwayne, Sister-in-law Marsha and I to have a few FaceTime calls with our mother.  We were able to sing to her, pray with her and say our goodbyes. On our last FaceTime call, our mother transitioned to heaven after hearing our voices.  I know she is in a better place, free of pain, but my void is huge.  I will forever miss her!  Unfortunately she did not have any life insurance, and we are left with the task of trying to give our mom a proper burial service.  So I am reaching out to you all, family & friends, to ask for any monetary donations to assist us in laying our mom to rest.  We sincerely appreciate any and all assistance.  No donation is too small.  For those who would like to send cards or flowers you may send to Shshawnee Gory 454 W 79th St Los Angeles CA 90003 or Dwayne & Marsha Williams PO Box 847 Atwood CA 92811.
