Freeman Chavis III was born on May 1st, 1976, and passed away unexpectedly on November 19th, 2025. Freeman was the kind of person who would help anyone, often giving the shirt off his back to do just that. He made a living doing odd jobs—cutting trees (his favorite), mowing lawns, sweeping parking lots and stores, and picking up trash around the neighborhood. He was doing what he could to get by and support himself and his family.

Freeman , he went about life in his own way, he loved God, his family, and his friends deeply. He became involved in a local church, helping with produce giveaways, attending services on Sundays, and singing in the choir. Freeman loved to sing, dance, and make people smile. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none, always ready to talk to kids in the neighborhood and encourage them to be better than he was. He was the best uncle to his nephew Jeremiah , always trying to teach him good things to live by. Freeman had a warm smile for everyone, and while he had his ups and downs, he was always about family.

He leaves behind three beautiful daughters and six grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. His sister looked out for him, cared for him during times of injury and hospitalization, and their bond was strong. Freeman used to say, 'I'm the older brother—I should be looking out for you!' Despite many near-death experiences, Freeman always seemed to bounce back, and his family joked that he had thousands of lives. But today, God wanted him home. Freeman's family is struggling to give him the funeral service he deserves. The funds raised will help cover funeral costs and allow his loved ones to honor his memory in a way that reflects the kindness and love he shared with so many.
