Homecoming Ready: A Film by F. William Samuel
Donation protected
It's comedian F. William Samuel (William S. Parrish, Jr.) and I'm a proud graduate of Hampton University-Genesis II Class of 1989, (y'all know how we feel about class names at Hampton). Y'all know me and while this is my virgin effort at film making, you will be gushing with pride at the images and story we tell about the HBCU ritual of Homecoming. Join us as we complete production of this groundbreaking film documenting the true HBCU experience and our love for Homecoming! We are inviting you to participate in the production and completion of this film by donating, sharing, posting and influencing the conversation! Our goal is to complete this film and have it film festival-ready by Fall 2021, but need your dollars now! There is nothing like an HBCU Homecoming! If you had to describe, it's probably the best combination of a family reunion, fashion show, concert, day party, music festival, week-long church revival (I'm talking Men's Day, Church Anniversary and Women's Auxiliary Usher Board #9 New Member's Celebration, rolled into one), oh and there is a football game too. If that wasn't enough, we all have our own reasons and, sometimes very different, for why we come back to our beloved University, but still share the need to get ready, in the true Hampton spirit! Homecoming Ready is a short film/docu-series with a dedicated focus to Game Day preparations by the Hampton Pirates Football Team, for the Homecoming Game! The larger and more enticing story is the Homecoming preparation rituals undertaken by alumni, students and staff, as we all get ready, but not just ready...Homecoming Ready! Film Length: 35-45 Minutes
