HELP US FUND A CANNING LINE FOR HOMEBUCHA!
Thank you for for your interest in supporting our local kombucha company! We are fundraising to help us purchase an automated can filling machine along with a can top seamer. This system will dramatically reduce the physical toll on our production crew while allowing for us to expand in a sustainable fashion, increasing the flexibility of our product offerings to our local markets.
Homebucha was founded in late 2015 and it is with the encouragement of our community in Durham and the greater Triangle of NC that we have been successful. We are dedicated to producing the tastiest kombucha in our region, while maintaining traditional and sustainable fermentation practices.
As our company has grown, the physical aspect of producing kombucha at scale has been a continuous challenge. We want to make our kitchen an inclusive space where all bodies are capable of efficiently packaging our product with the proper equipment and skills.
With this in mind, we are launching our Can Raiser campaign to help us purchase a new can filling machine to help automate our system and reduce the physical toll that production has on our team.
A new canning system will revolutionize both the way we package our product and the way that it reaches consumers.
- Allow for all body types to efficiently run filling line
- Automate more aspects of production to allow for sustainable growth in our region
- Lower costs of production
- Allow for a wider variety of flavors that aren't suited to the bottle conditioning process we currently use
- Cans are a lightweight packaging option that allows for more adventuring with your Homebucha! Cans pack easily and can be crushed down and packed out easily from your hiking, swimming, biking, and other adventures!
- Cans are fully recyclable
- With our new system, we’ll be able to lock in a more consistent carbonation in our product, with no SCOBYs for more accessible enjoyment!
We will still be naturally fermenting our kombucha in the ancient way, just canning it rather than bottling.
We owe all of our success thus far to our amazing local foods community in Durham and beyond. To everyone out there who has enjoyed our kombucha, shared a kind word, or encouraged us along the way, you are part of the Homebucha community! CAN you support us in this next phase of growth?
Funds from this campaign will go towards:
- XpressFill 4 Spout Can Filling Machine ($4,100)
