Home Treatment for Harvey
Donation protected
I want to start off by thanking you for taking the time to read this. A lot of you may have known Harvey for a long period of time or even just met him recently, and through that, you would have seen how outgoing and bubbly his personality is. He was always laughing or telling jokes and he built friendships this way. In 2018 he received his very first motorcycle and to say he was passionate about it was an understatement. He spent a lot of time in the garage with his dad Homer and they created a stronger bond through this. “We would bike together and when we saw a loop he would signal to me that he was going for it and I would watch him from behind very proudly of how good he leaned.” His dad said.
On May 29th, 2020, we got the call that he was in life-threatening condition and to head to the hospital. Our hearts shattered. He’s received multiple surgeries and to this day is still recovering from a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury. He spent a total of 4 months in the hospital and we would like to take him home soon. We are getting our basement renovated to cater to his needs. Harvey would need full total care ADL (activities of daily living), including medication administration, tube feeding, portable lift from hospital bed to wheelchair & vice versa. As he is wheelchair-bound a ramp is needed to be made as well. We believe that home care is the best option for us as this way he can be around his family and friends. The love of family and admiration of friends will be an important part of his rehabilitation. Harvey is a fighter and we have faith that one day he will become fully independent again.
Our family would like to give a huge thank you for all the love and support you have shown us.
