My wife and I are in the midst of achieving our dreams, having just purchased our first home—a place we hoped would be a safe and happy foundation for our family. Unfortunately, our lives were turned upside down when Michels Utility Company, while replacing gas lines in our neighborhood, crossed gas and water lines and drilled into our home's foundation. This caused large cracks and sinking in our main level, damaging the structural integrity of our home. Our foundation surrounds a fully finished basement with bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry room, and a garage, making the damage even more devastating. The company admitted fault but only offered to patch the outside and inside corners of our home, a solution that falls far short of what is needed. When I tried to get a second opinion, they patched and backfilled the damaged area without my consent, making it impossible for my hired expert to properly assess the situation. I requested a tarp to protect the area, but they ignored my request and proceeded with their own temporary fix. Now, my family is left with a home that is unsafe and in need of major repairs, and we are facing a battle to hold those responsible accountable. The funds raised here will go directly toward essential repairs, legal fees, and temporary housing for my family while we fight for justice. I am determined to ensure that not only our home, but all homes in our neighborhood, are properly assessed and repaired. This is not just about us—it's about protecting our community and making sure that companies like Michels and those who hire them are held to the highest standards. If you are able to help, please know that your support means the world to us. Every donation brings us one step closer to restoring our home and ensuring this doesn't happen to others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us in this fight. Respectfully, Alexander Babcock
