I have an elderly couple that lives next door to me (81 and 86) . They are very sweet, but have little familial support.

Last year their refrigerator leaked and caused damage to their flooring and 3/4 of their wall. Insurance came out and ripped it up and left it due to them not having the coverage.

A few months ago their bathroom flooded. I’m not too sure of the problem but water came through their shower causing a disaster. Once again, they have no insurance.

I am trying to help them to get their house under livable conditions.

They do have a small budget for these repairs. I am trying to help them as best as I can. They live off social security to get by.

I am starting the process of them getting home health care, grocery delivery, etc. so they can still have a sense of pride and independence.
