Myself and my partner hired someone we believed to be a licensed builder, and we paid him $53000 of a $59000 quote, and we have since discovered he has an extensive criminal record and no builders licence to perform any of the work and our home has been left unliveable. With no shower, no bathroom, no kitchen and because I am on a disability pension for blindness and my partner is my caregiver and on a caregivers pension, we do not qualify for any additional bank loans to get this remedied. We moved to Tasmania After years of searching for an affordable home. Due to the fact that we do not qualify for any more bank loans and do not have money to fight this in civil courts, we are asking for your help to get our home back to a liveable state.
