Home of Refuge Outreach, Inc., is devoted to offering support to our Rockingham County “Neighbors” (aka our homeless citizens). By providing temporary shelter, food, and clothing, along with job training, necessary classes, and other support services, we want to empower our Neighbors to become productive members of society and live a life of fulfillment.
We rely solely on community donations and grants to accomplish our mission. A generous donor has given us a disused warehouse centrally located in Reidsville, which will allow us to expand our outreach programs and serve the increasing need in Rockingham County. The building has been unused for years and needs quite a bit of work and repairs on the structure before we are able to use it.
We are asking YOU to help us raise $1.2 million dollars to completely transform the building and expand our programs that will help us to fulfill our mission and continue providing opportunities for these often marginalized humans deserve.
Rockingham County holds the state’s 2nd highest homelessness rate and these people are in critical need of the resources we offer. With your generous donations, we will be able to continue to serve our greater Rockingham County community and help our Neighbors gain a sense of confidence and gift them with a sense of independence. We want to help educate and provide a safe place for our homeless Neighbors so that they can leave our organization with a new life – a better life, a life that allows them to take pride in living comfortable and most importantly, living off the streets.
