Home lost in Holiday Farm Fire

As many of you know by now we have lost our house. Not only our house but Cheyenne Jeep, many non replaceable things like Cheyenne’s mom’s photo albums, baby things and much much more. We have lived in this house for over 3 years and this is the house our daughter Ivy knew and loved. I mean just last week we were picking blackberries and grapes.
On Monday September 7th around 8pm our power went out, which happens more often than you think, we went to lay in bed and check out our community bulletin board to see why it was out. We than saw there was A small fire about 25 miles up from our house and we received a level one update. I decided to call my parents and ask their opinion, they thought it was best to just head down to them. So I packed a tiny bag of Ivy’s clothes and diapers, packed the husband, dog, baby and myself in his car and took off to my parents thinking we would be able to go get some more things and the Jeep in the morning. After a long night of tossing and turning we woke up at 6 to see Vida was at a level 3 (GO NOW) alert and the fire was already to Vida and there was no going back to our house. Than that morning my parents house on Camp Creek road had a evacuation and we than moved again to a friends house. We than decided to go sign up with the Red Cross at Thurston high just and we were provided with a hotel room, 3 meals a day, diapers, wipes and we got to go through and grab some clothes for all of us. The Red Cross has been a saving grace for us. It wasn’t until last night Saturday September 12th, that we received photos that our house was gone. It was gone within 24 hours of the fire starting. In 24 hours we lost everything. Irreplaceable things. But what matters is that we are together as a family. If you know Sam and I’s story, you know that we’ve have been through so much in 4 years that this is just one more obstacle to overcome.

On top of it all Ivy’s 2nd birthday is the 24th of September. And her safe place, her only place she has ever known as home, is gone.

We kindly ask you guys to share this around, once we hit the goal we will move it up to continue to help us.

We cant thank you enough for all the support form family, friends, and the American Red Cross.

We stand strong as a community and we will get through it.
