Home Isn’t Home Without Our American Bully: Fighting BSL
Donation protected
In the summer of 2024, my fiancé and I took a leap of faith and moved from Ontario to British Columbia for work and rugby opportunities we didn’t have back home. Since then, life has thrown more at us than we could’ve expected. Some of our family members back home are unwell, and being so far from them has made things even harder.
My fiancé has suffered injuries that made it hard to work consistently, and as two young people trying to build a life from the ground up, being this far away without a support system has taken its toll. We’ve realized that what we need most is to return home, to focus on our relationship, build stability, and be surrounded by the love and support we’ve been missing.
But we can’t go home without our dog. He’s not just a pet, he’s our baby, our emotional support, and the most important part of our little family. He’s an American Bully, which sadly means he’s constantly judged and stereotyped. He’s gentle, sweet, and probably more afraid of you than you are of him, but because of outdated and harmful breed-specific legislation, he’s labeled as “aggressive.”
Right now, we live in a concrete city that doesn’t offer him the quality of life he deserves. Going back to Ontario means a backyard to run in, dog friends to play with, and a home that’s filled with love, safety, and fresh air.
Unfortunately, due to the breed restrictions, the cost to safely transport him back across the country with us is extremely expensive, far out of our price range given our current situation.
We’re asking for help to get him home where he belongs. We can’t imagine starting the next chapter of our lives without him.

End breed-specific legislation!! Let love, not fear, lead the way❤️
