I am creating a GoFundMe for my family during this horrible time.

The day before Christmas Eve, my family was attacked by a transient intruder. Chad had just gotten home with the kids from visiting Marisa in the hospital due to gallbladder surgery complications. Chad was stabbed in the head twice, through his mouth into his jaw breaking his front teeth, his chest by his heart, and his thigh centimeters from his artery, all because the intruder didn't want the cops called after being told to leave the house. Their young kids witnessed this attack, and their lives were in danger. The transient was out to kill.

Due to the heroic acts of the kids, Chad's life was saved. The 10-year-old is the one who called the cops, and the 16-year-old helped tackle the man while he was stabbing his father and helped hold him until police arrived.

Chad tackled this man for more than 10 minutes, saving his kids from this monster while bleeding profusely.

Marisa got the call while stuck in the hospital, feeling the most helpless she's felt in her life. The man she has loved for 12 years was stabbed, and we knew nothing of his status. I didn't know what hospital he was in. Marisa said the kids were screaming and crying, telling her over and over, 'Dad got stabbed. It's really bad.' The police told me we needed to get family to get the kids right away. Marisa couldn't be there to comfort any of their 5 kids. She couldn't comfort Chad. And their poor dog Raven was scared out of her mind as well.

Our family arrived quickly. Marisa thankfully was able to call and messaged everyone she could think of to get help there because she couldn't. She was stuck to machines unfortunately , but they were keeping her alive.

The evil man was arrested and has a bond set somehow. So our family is terrified this man will get out. We are going to have to get security cameras for the safe and well-being our our family to help the PTSD.

The kids are going to have to get therapy and will be affected by this for the rest of their lives. Chad is going to have to get substantial dental work, medical treatment, and therapy. He's currently admitted, and sadly, his insurance doesn't start until the first of the year. Marisa has been off work without pay during medical complications, and Chad was the only income. Now he will be off work for awhile until he can get back to his normal self.

We are going to need help.

Marisa ," I wanted to thank everybody that has sent their prayers and wishes to me and my family while I've been in the hospital with medical issues and the unexpected attack on Chad and my family. I'm hoping that I can get out of the hospital tomorrow on Christmas Day. My second surgery has been successful so far. Chad is stable considering being stabbed multiple times.

I wanted to thank our family and friends for helping with the kids and supporting us through this mess. We couldn't have done it without you all.

I wanted to thank our local police department for arriving quickly and apprehending the suspect.

This has been the worst Christmas, but my kids and Chad are heroes. This year we probably won't be able to have a Christmas. And it's hurting our hearts.

We have a long road of recovery. The kids have a very long road coping with the trauma.
