A Home Haircutting Salon ❤️

Donation protected
Friends, it’s time to get this show back on the road ❤️✂️
I’m so close to my dream of getting back behind the chair to doing what love ❤️It’s a defining goal and crucial piece of getting my life back ❤️

But there are some caveats.
The gist is, going  back to a conventional salon is not an accessible work environment for me.  What I need to go forward is a home haircutting studio for me to work in. We have a number in mind for how much we can put toward the build out, and the quotes that are coming in are leaving us $10-20,000 shy of what is needed to make it feasible. And I’m trying like heck to bridge the gap of the difference. And I humbly ask, if you’re inspired to help?

More details about my journey below...

As most of you know, I suffered a major health crisis from toxic exposure. My injures were devastating to my health, my life, and my wellbeing. I was largely incapacitated, in a world on pain, and in extreme isolation for a long time. But my dreams kept me moving forward.
I continue my road of recovery ❤️ And in the process of increasing my wellness, I’m ready to rebuild my life which includes my career that was lost when I was injured.
I can’t wait to be back in business again. It makes me so overcome with gratitude to feel like I’m on the precipice of that horizon.

But the deal is that going back to a conventional salon where chemical services are being performed (chemical hair straightening, coloring, perming, etc.) and where fragranced products are being used is not an option for me. Even if I’m not the one using them. Being in an environment that uses them as a primary way of doing business is the standard salon model, and is not accessible for me.

So what I’m needing to move forward is a solo haircutting studio, where I can govern the environment that supports my health and career from where I‘m at now going forward.

I have a ‘big-little project’.
The size is small, but the scope is big in the sense of what all needs to be done to have a safe and accessible work facility that meets building codes.
I’m refining designs to & have approval to convert my garage at my home into a legitimate haircutting studio, with an en-suite restroom, dispensary area, and shampoo station.
the design is customized to be outfitted for my needs which includes low to nontoxic building materials, as it is know that conventional construction materials have outgassing of formaldehyde and VOCs which I had extreme hypersensitivity to.
the projects includes the whole works of needing a firewall, windows, interior and exterior doors, insulation, concrete work, plumbing, electrical, fixtures, ventilation, HVAC, parking... etc.

This space will be a place where I can work in an adaptive way, and step into a future that I’ve been dreaming of for over 2 years, and have a foundation that I can rebuild my career and life on.
Working adjacent to home will allow me to schedule in a way where I can pace myself as I incrementally develop my work capacity energy level, have exclusive use of styling and cleaning & disinfecting products that are safe for me, and have the flexibility I need as rebuilding my life evolves.

What my vision is in this space to offer clients and community is a fun, creative, intimate, calm, and connected environment that celebrates and explores individual’s unique style, specializing in haircutting and safer personal care products, as well as a focus on a more healthy, holistic & sustainable approach to beauty.
I can’t wait to share the full expression of this vision.

I am so proud of my path to wellness. But my journey has been long and financially depleting.  And the building quotes that I’ve been getting for the studio make me feel like my dreams I can almost touch are just out of reach.

Any donations add up to being a time in the floor, a fixture, a window, a door, a tangible dream...

If you are inspired to contribute to helping me get my dream in motion, I would be grateful beyond words
I have worked so hard to get this far. And I could use some help bridging any piece of this gap with this next big step. You would be helping me pave my yellow brick road. So this girl can get the rest of her way back home ❤️✂️
