Hei! My name is Carla and I am a 26 year old girl travelling South America. I’ve been away from Germany since 9 months and the past 4 months I’ve been working and living in a retreat Center in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon close to Iquitos.
When I arrived to this place, the first being on the property that greeted me was a beautiful blond dog. Pretty soon I learned about here name - Rosie - and we immediately became good friends. She followed me around everywhere and we loved hanging out together. The better I got to know her, I also learned about her story. She is 4 years old and was born and raised in the Center. She had two previous owners, but they both left and didn’t take Rosie with them. I could tell that she had an abandonment trauma and therefore bonded strongly with me. From my second week on already, I thought about adopting her. Still having a lot of doubts if this would be a good decision for the both of us. But even though my head was still doubting, my heart just knew that we both belonged together. And with time our connection grew stronger and stronger. Rosie was a free jungle dog but I started to leash train her and she’s learning super fast. She is such a smart dog and trusts me so much that she completely follows me.
At some point it became obvious that we were already too far in our relationship and that I couldn’t leave her behind once I leave the Center. It would’ve only deepened her abandonment trauma. And I myself couldn’t imagine anymore to be without her. We are enjoying each others company a lot and are both so nourished by it.
As I am a student still and travelling, with my financial situation it may seem unreasonable to adopt a dog. Still so many people witnessing Rosie and me together encouraged me to adopt her and said they would donate for Rosie’s expenses. This is why I am creating this gofundme to open a channel for the money to come to me.
The money that you donate goes in all the expenses that Rosie causes like food, vet bills, transportation costs etc.
I would be incredibly grateful and honoured to receive a contribution that supports Rosie and me! We are so happy to be together and I am proud that I can provide a healthy and loving home for her.
Thank you so much!!
Rosie & Carla
