In the early morning hours of September 6, the unthinkable happened. My nephew, Damien, and his fiancee, Sarah, were awakened by a fire in their home in the Ocean Park area of Virginia Beach. They made it out with the cat and that's about it. Their place suffered major fire, smoke, and water damage- they lost almost everything. But, they're safe...devastated, but safe.

Damien and Sarah are absolutely overwhelmed and grateful for all of you who have already reached out with concern, love, and generosity. Lots of you have asked what you can do- they will definitely need help- and are not too proud to say that, but they're still so in shock and trying to put the pieces together.

So, I'm stepping in and asking for your help. They have a place to stay, but will need to replace pretty much everything. Many of you have offered items. We are still not sure what is needed immediately. I will update here as soon as they let me know more.
