my name is Chris and I'm asking for help regarding my home after being damaged by the recent storms devastating my area. I've been getting wrecked by storms since summer started, from heavy winds, to our entire town flooding back to back. Friday the 1st, I heard tapping of water on my ceiling coming from the attic, I also found shingles in my backyard. so I called my insurance, I was originally told I was completely covered because I'm in a disaster area (multiple claims coming out of my area for the same damage). the woman with confidence told me I'm fully covered "not to worry, this is why you have insurance."..

Monday rolls around, contractors show up and start taking the interior walls down, an adjuster from ALACRITY SOLUTIONS (OWNED BY BLACK ROCK SINCE 2023) shows up, takes pics and leaves.

my roof has a leak from damaged shingles, through my attic which has caused water damage my support beams, and has severely water damaged the interior walls. I tried to mitigate this myself with putting multiple dehumidifiers around the house but that didn't help me much.

radio silence for two days, I call my insurance and I'm told the complete opposite. "actually sorry we cannot cover this anymore due to the age of the house"

I moved in 4 years ago, it passed inspections, the roof was replaced or refurbished right before I moved into the house, that was one of the conditions when I bought it. and they are saying its too old and that all the sudden the weather is not the cause of the damage despite me being in a heavily effected area (multiple neighbors on my street are having their homes being worked on right now due to weather damage)

they are leaving me with the bill, and if I can't make the repairs to the house, its considered "failure to maintain" and then I will be penalized further.

I'm asking for money to take this to court and to also pay for the repairs since they are leaving me in the dust with all these loop holes after telling me I was totally covered.

They scheduled a team to demo the walls, but never scheduled a team to put the walls back up. They are now saying because of this mistake, that I now have to wait six months before they can send anyone to fix the walls they broke down. I was also told to get a loan and "google some contractors" which I was told wasn't my job at the beginning of this shit show.

And when I got in contact with a manager, upon telling him that six months was completely unreasonable and that he needed to help me with this, he was like 'oh? what are you going to do about it." so I'm running a charity so I 1. fix the damages, 2.hire legal guidance.

I'm grateful for any help with this nightmare I've found myself in.
