Home Destroyed and Friend Killed by Falling Tree

On Sunday 6/28 a storm passed through Chapel Hill, knocking a tree onto of our friend Marvin Cruz Cordero's home. His trailer, which he owned, was split in half and his best friend and roommate, Grijalva Revolorio Abel was killed.
Marvin has been part of our kitchen crew at The Pig for over 8 years. 8 YEARS! He's the one in the back frying up your green tomatoes and smoking your chicken. He's an important part of our family and community.
We're looking to raise $25,000.00 in order to:
-Provide legal assistance to Marvin to determine what, if an value can be salvaged from his home.
-Secure temporary housing while Marvin comes to terms with this tragedy and explores his future options.
-Repair major damages to his truck which was also directly in the path of this fallen tree.
-Invest in securing Marvin permanent replacement housing.
