Three weeks after surviving a major heart attack and undergoing double bypass open heart surgery, my 68-year-old mother’s life was turned upside down again.

While she was still recovering, a driver crashed into her mobile home with such force that it completely destroyed the structure — smashing through her walls, tearing apart her space, and killing her beloved rescued elderly dog, who was everything to her.

She lost everything in an instant: her home, her clothes, her furniture, her food, her sense of safety, and her best friend.

Now, while we wait for insurance to even begin to assess the situation, my mother is left homeless, grieving, and physically vulnerable as she tries to heal from major surgery without the basic necessities of life.
