On 11 February, we came home to our house completely flooded with outside sewage. The main sewage line was backed up and our house is the lowest elevation in our neighborhood. So all of the sewage in the neighborhood came into our house for over 5 hours. Luckily most of our furniture is salvageable. Unfortunately, our walls and tile floors are not. Insurance is only paying a fraction of what the total cost is, so far it’s unclear if that includes the hotel cost and the boarding cost for the dogs. We’ve reached out to the sewage company but haven’t heard back from them.
