Betty needs full time care.
She is 94 years old with Alzheimer's, a heart condition called congestive heart failure, and macular degeneration which has left her with very little eyesight.
Betty has lived in a house with her son since 2001, and up until one year ago was able to do everything by herself. Betty has always been known for her youthful abilities, quick wit, and astonishing memory. Sadly, this is no longer the case. She is unable to do things for herself, and needs someone to help her and care for her at all times.
Betty has a loving family that contributes as much time as they are able to, but as many people would understand, we all have busy lives. The family has done everything we possibly could with insurance, but it does not cover nearly the amount of care she needs. A nursing home is far more costly than her limited income will allow. Our goal for her is to have an in-home caregiver that can assist her with everyday functions and activities. Unfortunately, this too, is a great expense not covered by insurance. She will need this care for the rest of her life.
Betty has a limited monthly income which will go 100% toward care for her, but it is not enough. Betty needs as much help as she can get. Please consider donating to this amazing woman that has rarely ever asked anything of anyone!
