My name is Kasheem Daniels, and I’m raising $2,754 towards my project studio by installing custom acoustic sound panels, something I'll call my “Walls of Jericho.” This space is more than a studio for me. It’s my livelihood, my purpose, and a place where creativity, healing, and opportunity can live.
Over the past two years, through my own investments, school aid, and the support of my friends, I've put together over $10,000 worth of equipment that has shaped my space into what it is today.
I've lived with Sickle Cell Disease my entire life but as of 10 years ago, I was declared unable to work due to the physical strain on my body. Before this, I worked entry-level audio jobs as a stagehand, staying as close to my dream of becoming an audio engineer as possible. Eventually, my health caught up with me. I suffered a serious fall off a stage during a setup that injured my hip and back. Shortly after, I lost vision in my left eye due to lack of oxygen and blood flow that caused a detached retina.
I later survived a near-fatal brain aneurysm that required emergency surgery where surgeons removed part of my skull to drain bleeding that would have taken my life. Today, I continue regular neurological treatments for additional aneurysms to prevent it from happening again.
Recently, I was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer. Along with organ damage from sickle cell disease, heart complications, kidney issues, and severe sleep loss. My body forces me to move carefully through life but it has never stopped my passion for sound, creativity, and helping others.
Through every challenge, my faith has carried me. I believe God continues to give me purpose, strength, and time because there is still work for me to do. Building this studio is part of that calling... turning pain into purpose, creating through adversity, and using my gifts to serve others and inspire those who may feel limited by their circumstances.
Alongside building my project studio, I am currently studying for my Bachelor’s degree in Audio Arts at Full Sail University. Continuing my education allows me to sharpen my skills, expand my knowledge, and operate at a professional level in sound design, production, and creative audio services. This studio directly supports my education by giving me a dedicated environment to practice, create, and apply what I learn while building a sustainable future for myself and my family.
This studio is where I will work, create, and provide for my children. It will also serve as a peaceful space where artists, storytellers, and creators can bring their ideas to life — a place of creativity, healing, and positive energy.
The services I provide support my living expenses, medical needs, healthy nutrition, and maintaining the tools required to continue my work. This space allows me to live independently, support my family, and continue pursuing the vision placed in my heart.
I’ve never shared my full story publicly before, but I believe in encouraging others to keep going despite life’s challenges. My journey is a testimony that purpose can exist even in hardship, and that faith, perseverance, and community make the impossible possible.
This fundraiser helps me continue building a future through creativity rather than limitations.
If you feel led to support, donate, or share, I am deeply grateful. Every contribution helps me continue my journey and build something meaningful for myself and others.
Thank you for believing in my vision and being part of the journey.
— Creatively Yours,
Kasheem
