Hi, my name is Will.

For several months now, my close friend and roommate, Sarah, and I have been doing our best to stay afloat—along with our sweet doggie, Tootsie—in our tiny apartment in Palms, Los Angeles.

About a month ago, Sarah fell seriously ill. She’s managed to keep her job, but the illness has forced her to miss many of her paid days—between hospital stays, doctor’s appointments, and simply being too sick to go in. As a result, our rent has gone unpaid, or nearly so, and we’re now facing the real possibility of losing our home.

We’re asking for help so we can stay indoors, safe, and dry—and give Sarah the space she needs to recover and adjust to her new health reality. We’re doing everything we can, but the gap is bigger than we can manage alone.

Sarah has been a dedicated harm reduction worker at a Westside clinic, helping others heal and stay safe. I’ve spent the last few years organizing across Echo Park and Downtown LA, often biking across the city to show up for my community.

Now we’re the ones in need. As we navigate this unexpected and difficult chapter, any support you can offer will go directly toward rent and essentials, helping us avoid displacement and giving Sarah the stability she needs to heal.
