Holy Family Catholic Church is located in American Canyon, CA which is just south of Napa, and is proud to be the friendliest parish in the Valley. It was started in 1994 by a small group of American Canyon residents who wanted their own parish. Holy Family has wandered from one rented facility to another for over 23 years.
With the first pastor, Father Patrick Stephenson, Holy Family began a tradition of service and pastoral care to American Canyon and the surrounding area, including welcoming many visitors that come to enjoy the Napa Valley. Also, under Fr. Pat's leadership the parish build a foundation for a permanent home by purchasing and completely paying for our land, located right off the main corridor of American Canyon.
In June 2011, I was appointed as the new parish Administrator of Holy Family Parish to replace Fr. Pat who was retiring. I have continued the tradition of service and pastoral care that Fr. Pat began and put my own stamp of "style" on the parish. Within a year, I moved the church from the Community Center to our current rented space close to our "Promised Land". Our new facility gives us a place to hold Masses and activities throughout the week and has helped us to grow our congregation but we remain focused on our need to construct a new Church building so we can expand our service to the community.
We have received the necessary City and Diocesan permissions to begin construction but we need your help. We are now paying $9,000 each month for rent of our current location. Once we start building we will need to continue to pay that along with servicing the bank loan until the construction is complete.
We have reached out in many ways to raise the $2,000,000 we need to support our project but we still need your help. We set up this GoFundMe project so that the good Lord will touch your hearts so that you will donate what you can to support us as we build our new Church.
There is a lot to do for the American Canyon community. Once we have our new home, we plan to expand our service and pastoral care projects. Holy Family also wants to provide a safe haven for people affected by disasters, such as the 2017 North Bay Wildfires.
