Holtz Family Fire Recovery Support

Hello! Our dear friends, Gene and Renee Holtz and family, have lost more than we can fathom in a garage/home fire that happened on July 11, 2024 in Tea, SD.

The fire began when a charging battery exploded in their attached garage.

That part of their home, including the finished upstairs living quarters is completely destroyed along with thousands of dollars worth of belongings inside their garage/storage room.

Much of what is inside their home is also unsalvageable (furniture, beds, appliances, food stores, equipment, tools, keepsakes etc.).

They are so thankful to be safe and to have recovery/restoration efforts in place and insurance to cover what it will.

But our hearts ached to see them like this, and I know their needs extend beyond what insurance will take care of.

They will be displaced from their home for many weeks/months as crews attempt to salvage and restore as much as possible within their home.

Any monetary donations would bring relief to their daily living struggles (groceries, etc.) as they sort through the rubble and begin to start their life over.
