Hi everyone,

This has been one of the scariest days of my life. My sweet Bernedoodle, Holter, suddenly became very sick today — panting, lethargic, and refusing food. His belly was swollen, and I rushed him to the vet.

The vets discovered that Holter’s stomach had twisted, a life-threatening condition called bloat (GDV). Without emergency surgery, he wouldn’t have survived. There was no hesitation — I told them to do whatever it takes to save him.

The total cost for the surgery and hospitalization came to about $8,000-14,000 (pending his recovery, medication and days spent in the hospital), and I put it all on credit cards so Holter could get the help he needed right away. I recently bought a home and had just paid quite a bit in closing costs and new home expenses, so this has put me in a really difficult financial position.

Holter is my heart, my family, and truly my best friend. He he helped pull me out of the depths of depression and reminded me of what unconditional love feels like. He has saved my life and I would give anything for him and I have but I’m asking for help now so that this emergency doesn’t turn into long-term debt that I can’t climb out of.
