I am a playwright with a passion for telling stories that both honor and challenge the traditions of musical theater. Over the years, I’ve had four plays produced locally, including two musicals, all on modest budgets. Now, I’m embarking on my most ambitious project yet: my third musical, 'Hollywood Melody.'

'Hollywood Melody' is a heartfelt tribute to the 1930s movie musicals of Warner Brothers and RKO, but with a twist—it defies the racism of the times. The story centers on a retired African-American actor who, after years of playing stereotypical roles in silent movies and early talkies, joins forces with a playwright to reclaim her stolen screenplay from her ambitious ex-husband. Together, they set out to produce a film that, behind the scenes, reveals the lost potential of diversity that was overlooked in Hollywood’s golden age.

To bring this vision to life, I’m working with a talented local music producer to create original music for about 20 songs and background themes. We’ll need to pay a cast of 15 or more to professionally record the dialogue and music, ensuring that every performer is compensated for their talent and time.
