Update on My Healing Journey
I want to thank each of you who has reached out, prayed, shared kind words, or donated—it truly
means the world to me.
As many of you know, I’ve been in the hospital battling osteomyelitis (a serious bone infection) affecting
my mouth, jaw, and sinus. The treatment plan now requires 6–8 weeks of IV antibiotics, which can’t be
safely managed at home because of the complexity and seriousness of my condition. My doctors are
recommending I continue treatment in a swing bed facility, where I’ll have 24-hour nursing care, IV
medications, and the close monitoring I need to prevent further life-threatening complications.
Unfortunately, this means the medical costs will continue to rise well beyond the hospital
stay—covering the swing bed care, medications, and ongoing follow-up treatment.
I’m sharing this update not out of wanting to ask too much, but because many of you have asked how
you can help and what’s ahead for me. Every bit of support—whether it’s a donation, a share of this
page, or simply keeping me in your thoughts—truly makes a difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for walking alongside me in this season. Your love and support
are helping me keep hope alive as I focus on healing.
Hey Facebook Family,
I’ve been going through quite the whirlwind since the beginning of July. It started with an abscessed
tooth that went up into my sinus cavity. After it was removed, things didn’t get better — I continued to
decline and became resistant to multiple antibiotics.
Since then, I’ve been to multiple doctors and ERs, had multiple scans and imaging, and now two hospital admissions.
Right now, I’m in the hospital. We believe the infection has spread into the jaw
bone and sinuses, and to make things more complicated, I contracted MRSA.
I will be consulting with an Infectious Disease doctor now as well .
This morning, I had a severe reaction to a new prescription — I went into anaphylaxis at 4 a.m., used my
EpiPen, and then had to use a second one just hours later before Kevin called an ambulance.
Thankfully, I was admitted quickly and started on IV medications, including IV antibiotics.
As you can imagine, the costs are quickly adding up. Just the two hospital admissions are $3,000, not including prescriptions, follow-ups, etc. or the likelihood of a sinus surgery ahead.
Some of you have asked how you can help. If you’d like to donate, it would be such a blessing. If you
can’t, even sharing this post means the world to me.
