My mom’s story. It all started back in April 2023 when the doctor told her she was having a diverticulitis flare-up that wouldn’t go away so they decided to take that part of her colon out. The part that they took out ended up being cancer. She started chemotherapy treatments in May 2023 and completed her last one in September 2023 when the doctor told her she was good. She started having issues again in November 2023 and went to multiple doctors and had multiple scans. She finally decided to visit MD ANDERSON in Texas in January 2024. There they did more scans and testing. They are now telling her that the cancer has metastasized to her ovary. They are recommending multiple procedures including radiation followed by surgery. The decision was made for her to complete radiation (every day for 6 weeks) followed by surgery at MD ANDERSON in Texas. My mother is the strongest person I know. She isn’t the type of person to ask for help, because she’s so independent and try’s to do everything alone! So I know anything will help her even if it’s just $1!
