Help Holly Jolly Animal Rescue Save More Lives!
Hello friends and animal lovers,
We are Jeff, Avery (15), and Whit (13), a family dedicated to saving and caring for animals in need through our humble Holly Jolly Animal Rescue in Fleetwood, NC. Our journey began with a tragedy and has since transformed into a mission of love, compassion, and hope for our four-legged friends.
Our Story
At the onset of COVID-19, Avery and Whit, each got a Nigerian dwarf goat with plans for homemade cheese, ice cream, and soap. Our goats Alpha and Sunny, along with their kids, created a small herd that brought us great joy. Unfortunately, a pair of Siberian Huskies attacked our herd, leaving only Alpha alive. This devastating event was a turning point for us, inspiring us to start rescuing animals in need.
Our Animal Family
Alpha: The lone survivor of our original goat herd. He’s a silly goat. Alpha loves to play fight with Vader
Jules: A mini donkey we rescued from a farm in Tennessee. The farrier said his hooves were 1 of the worst cases of neglect he had seen. Jules like to greet us by braying as soon as the lights come on in the morning.
Vader: A pot-bellied pig who wandered into our lives and, despite being a bit elusive, has become a part of our family. Vader was abandoned on a horse farm and the owners thought he was a “wild boar”.
Kia: A horse saved from a kill pen in Asheboro, NC, who surprised us with a beautiful foal shortly after her rescue. Avery used money she had earned through participation in a university study for children with Cystic Fibrosis to “bail” Kia out. Both Avery and Whit have Cystic Fibrosis.
Baby: The kill pen Kia was rescued from does not allow pre-adoption access to horses. We had no idea Kia was pregnant when we adopted her. She was vetted right after her adoption and the vet did not know either. Baby was born 3/19/24 to our complete surprise!
Winnie: A sweet dog rescued from a family going through a divorce, now living happily in our home.
Mars: A kitten abandoned on the Blue Ridge Parkway, now a member of our inside household.
Jinks: Jinks is our family pet and not a rescue. She loves retrieving rocks and serves as our guard dog.
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a loving home for animals who have faced neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Each rescue comes with its own set of challenges and expenses, but the joy and love they bring into our lives make every effort worthwhile.
How You Can Help
Running Holly Jolly Animal Rescue is a labor of love, but it also requires significant resources. We would love to expand our ability to care for animals. Your generous contributions will help us cover the costs of:
Veterinary care (routine check-ups, emergency treatments, vaccinations)
Feed and nutritional supplements
Shelter, land and fencing improvements
Transportation for rescues
Necessary supplies (bedding, grooming tools, enrichment activities)
Join Our Journey
By donating to our GoFundMe campaign, you become a part of our rescue family. Your support allows us to continue providing the care and love these animals deserve and to welcome more rescues into our fold.
We understand that not everyone can contribute financially. Sharing our campaign with your network and spreading the word about our mission are additional ways to support Holly Jolly Animal Rescue.
Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement makes a world of difference. Together, we can give these animals the happy, healthy lives they deserve.
With gratitude and hope,
Jeff, Avery, Whit, and the entire Holly Jolly Animal Rescue family
