Hi, I’m Holly & I live in Texas. I’ve had a strange couple of years and have found myself needing help with medical bills.

Here are some of the copays and balances I’m attempting to pay at the moment: I first had a back injury in 2005, then in 2020, I was diagnosed with macular degeneration. I get shots in my eyes every 12 weeks. Then, sailing along until 2022, I was diagnosed with CLL Leukemia, which has ongoing oncologist appointments to check my white blood cell count and lymphocyte levels. Now, I have a fractured hip (6/2025) with ongoing pain, which is partially the hip. Then, the spine doctor says my other hip is bone on bone. Oh, it gets better The leukemia has inflamed my original back injury, so that will be with me forever.

I’m single. I do have 3 adult children who help when they can. It’s rough out there for young people also.

There are also monthly medication refills that are not cheap. I’ve gone without more than once. The leukemia causes shortness of breath, and my inhaler Trilogy copay is around $700.00 a month. My PCP has been giving me samples for 4 months.

I just need help - the copay for an MRI I need is $200.00. I’m going to have to pay that out.

The fractured hip, which has 3 screws, cost over $30,000.00, and my copay is $930.00.

My normal monthly copay charges average around $165.00. That is 3 different doctor visits.

I do have 3 credit cards that aren’t crazy limits, but they are all just getting a tad over the minimum payments monthly. They were used for doctor copays, tires, food, and oil changes. Now here I am.

I’m drowning here. I make enough for my basic bills every month but am just flying by the seat of my pants for any other expenses that pop up; and they always do.

Never thought I’d do this….

I do understand that I am blessed - I’m alive, hobbling around, & my leukemia is manageable at the moment.
