Bridge the Gap for Holly & Ella

Donation protected
Hi friends,
I’m swallowing my pride to ask for donations to help Ella and I to bridge the gap between now and September, when my income stabilizes.

If this is too long, feel free to skim the bold.

As many of you know, I lost 80% of my music/drama work and I made it through Covid on PUA and SBA loans

Not much work came back in the past 2 years since the schools are catching up too - arts are bottom of the barrel.

But during that time, I followed my spirit calling and created online courses and workshops for holistic healing and spiritual alignment. They’re all based on my own spiritual and psychological healing experience for past trauma and the psychology I learned to help Ella Claire with her needs (which helped me discover my own).

I thought I could complete the courses sooner, but it's been a huge rollercoaster and massive learning curve, especially for someone with ADHD!

But they're coming! I launch in August. I still believe they'll do well, but I don't have income from them yet.

I have been teaching a little - I had a few private students and several summer camps lined up - plus I received  GENEROUS gifts for Ella's activities.

I thought I would be able to scrape by, but my summer threw me several curveballs…
  • In May, the SBA loan extension I was expecting was denied due to funds running out (It had been processing since January)
  • The GA Rental Assistance agent didn’t answer any of my multiple portal messages, emails or phone calls from March - June so I haven't been able to get assistance
  • I began paying bills by credit card - which is now maxxed out (and not being paid)
  • Half my July preschool camps were canceled by the school at the last minute
  • My 2 preschools for this school year decided to start later - waiting until September to start classes instead of August.
  • My car needed repairs - twice - and 3 new tires
  • And my current situation is: I have $90 to last until Aug 2 and only $700 for the rest of August that will trickle in 5 small payments (along with whatever I can generate from my new courses)
Calgon, take me away! LOL

I don’t want people worrying about me, I’m staying in high spirits - just extremely low income

Ella and I both know that we will be ok in the long term, but it's definitely not an easy time. I worry more about how this affects her than anything else. She's had some rough days and worries a lot, but I’m helping her through it.

I know it will get better in September, but I am just at a loss for what else I can do financially (fast enough), so I'm just reaching out for help.

I have been taking action to catch up…
  • I'm teaching 6 voice/piano students
  • I have 2 preschools for September
  • I interviewed with a school last week
  •  I'm searching for PT online jobs and possible teacher openings that fit with my other contract schedules
  • I'll be posting workshops and online courses this week that begin in August (and also plan to contact local places to host workshops in person)
  • I've been posting items for sale on Facebook yardsale + getting ready for an in-person yardsale
  •  I started the rental/utility assistance process again with Sweetwater Mission - who have already responded 3 times! Yay! - But it’ll be a few weeks before assistance & relief comes.
  • And I've cut costs... A lot.
But I'm way behind and not expecting a major change until Late August or September when the first school payments come.

My main concerns right now are:
  • Pay at least part of past due rent
  • Pay past due insurance
  • Pay upcoming utility bills
  • Pay phone bill
  • Have gas & oil for the car
  • Buy a few groceries (until EBT deposit on Aug 11) toiletries and dogfood for Chachi.
Ideally, I’d also like to be able to pay at least half of the past due rent for July since I know it’ll be mid-August or later before rental assistance comes.

If you can donate ANY amount, it would help us so much just to make it through to September when things normalize.

If you don’t want to use GoFundMe, I can send you my Cash App or Zelle info or home address for checks.

Please help me keep this private!
I didn’t share it on my FB page because I don’t want my current students, business networking connections, or any potential clients to see it. I don't want to risk this launch or any future opportunities by giving the impression of instability or ineptitude. And of course, this type of thing can feel embarrassing for public eyes - all the mistakes I made along the way. Luckily I have the self love and healing tools to work through that now.

Thank you so much for reading to the end and I appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness in any amount you can share with us to help us out.

Love,
Holly
