My name is Kathy O’Keeffe, also known as Holly’s “grannmba”. Holly was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer 1/28/2020. She fought the battle, did everything that was asked of her such as, chemotherapy treatments, liver resection, mono therapy, scans, port draws, etc. She was so brave! Spring of 2022 we learned at Mayo that the only treatment option remaining would be too hard on her. Therefore, we took on the mantra “LIVING with Cancer”. And she did!

 Holly was born in 1990 with a unique chromosome anomaly known only to her… This meant she needed Special Education (Sp Ed) services starting at age 3. In 2000, she moved to Chaska. The teachers and para professionals worked with her to help achieve as much as she could with the bounds of her limitations. She was a proud graduate of Chaska High School; Class of 2008! Soar Hawks! A goal for this fundraiser is to help with some of Holly’s funeral expenses; and the primary goal is to provide a nice beginning for the “Holly Betker Special Education Scholarship Fund”. This scholarship will to be awarded annually, to a Chaska Graduate going into the field of special education. I cannot think of a better way to THANK the most amazing current and future teachers in this field. Chaska does a great job supporting their graduates with local scholarships and we want Holly to be a part of it. Thank you to all who have been with us in all ways, big and small.
