Hollow Moon Tattoo Expansion!

Thanks for checking out our GoFundMe! The TLDR; of it all is: Hollow Moon is expanding! There's a lot of benefits to the new location, including handicap accessible, onsite parking, and room for additional artists and guest artists! The new shop needs a lot of work though which is why we're raising money. Read on for more details, or skip to the end for rewards!
Some back story on Hollow Moon and problems with our current location:
Hollow Moon was born in October 13th 2017 as the private studio of me, Cutty Bage! I've been tattooing in Boone for about 4 years and have been located in a very tiny building on King Street. I love that tiny building, but there are a lot of problems with it. It's only big enough for me, and with a downtown location, I have a hard time affording it by myself. Being right across from the campus, parking is a nightmare. It's not big enough for me to have a counter person, which means I have an incredibly hard time keeping up with emails and phone calls. And biggest of all, the building isn't anywhere NEAR handicap accessible. Plus, now that my apprentice Allison is about ready to start tattooing, we need to find somewhere bigger so she can start her path as a tattooer! Theres a lot of things I'd love to do for the community that I'm just not able to do in this tiny spot.
Benefits of the new building:
After about a year and a half being in a private studio, I finally found the perfect location to expand! Its big enough for me, my amazing apprentice Allison Langewisch, and will even have a dedicated booth for traveling artists. With a bigger location and another artist, I’ll eventually be able to have a counter person who can answer calls and emails, allowing me to be much more accessible to customers. With a counter person we’ll be able to have actual open hours, which means you can straight up just walk in and say hi, look around, ask questions about tattoos, check out portfolios, or buy cool art and merch.
With increased foot traffic, I can have a dedicated tip jar at the counter where you can donate to a different charity every month, as well as promote different local charity organizations. Having a real shop will allow us to do what I originally wanted to do, help give back to the community that had given me so much.
I'd love to be able to hold more charity benefits, and with space for extra guest artists that'd be possible again!
One of the things I love most about tattooing is being able to provide a comfortable experience while helping people love their bodies and feel more comfortable in their skin. We know that a lot of times tattoos can be therapeutic, and that every one is important to you, no matter how small or simple the design. Having a bigger space will allow me to have more artists with the same mindset, providing a more comfortable and respectful tattoo environment. I've heard too many horror stories about people feeling disrespected or uncomfortable at other shops, and I'd like to create a space where everyone feels welcome and relaxed.
On top of that, its handicap accessible and FREE PARKING!!
Where the money will go:
The building as it stands needs a LOT of work to get in good enough shape to tattoo in. With a March 1st deadline, I have exactly one month to get it up and going. The VCT tiled floor needs to be ripped up and the concrete floor needs to be refinished. Most of the drop ceiling tiles need to be replaced and / or painted. And as per NC Health Code, we need to build individual booths for each artist, which means building lots of divider walls and running outlets to each room. Aside from build out, there’s permits and licensing. Then comes painting and finishing touches, furniture etc. One of the biggest costs in the building is going to be the clean room. Since I’ve been on my own in a tiny building I’ve been able to use disposable supplies, but now that I’ll have other artists working with me I’ll need a better sterilization system. An autoclave (which is used to sterilize reusable tattoo supplies) alone will cost up to $2000.
If I end up under budget, all extra money will be donated to the local Humane Society !

Please be flexible with your idea or have a few prepared so we can pick the best one!. You’re basically prepaying for this tattoo and getting to skip ahead in the waiting list. I’ll do 4 of these a month during May, June, July, and August, first come first serve. I can NOT refund this money. We can reschedule, but if you change your mind completely you can not get this money back. This is a flat rate, so if you decide to get a smaller tattoo I can not give any money back. This reward CAN be given to a friend as a gift certificate, but all of the above rules still apply! When all spots have been filled I will delete this level!
