Hello friends!

I am starting a fundraiser for my amazing friends Claudia, Willie, their daughter Audree and dog Irene who recently lost their rental home due to the flooding on Lovers Lane in Hollister, California. They are not only displaced, but have lost nearly everything they had prepared for their baby due at the end of February.

Claudia was home alone with her dog Irene when she was alerted that she had to flee her home immediately with only 10 minutes notice. Claudia described a water level that rose from ankle-deep to waist-deep within one minute. Claudia, who is currently 8 months pregnant, had to wade through waist-deep water while holding their family dog to escape her rapidly flooding home and neighborhood. Her vehicle was not drivable in that depth of water and she had to get herself and her dog to a water level safe enough where she could be picked up by her father.

As you can imagine this was an extremely traumatic experience for Claudia getting herself and her dog to safety. Claudia described the horror of the rapidly rising water level, hearing her neighbors' cows and other livestock crying as she fled, and being uncertain of what would happen after she left.

Claudia and Willie are two of the most wonderful humans I know and I know they won't ask for this support on their own, which is why I am doing so on their behalf. My goal is to support them in replacing some of the necessities for their new baby and the means to find a new home.
