Hello! My name is Hollie Hughes and I'm a 16 year old from North Wales!
In 2027, I will be one of 72 young people from across Wales to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Poland 2027.
To be able to achieve this, I had to attend a selection camp with over 200+ young people in attendance, and only 72 of us got selected into 2 Units across Wales, from here - we will be joining around 40,000+ scouts from across the world for a 3 week adventure of a lifetime.
- What is the World Scout Jamboree?
The WSJ only appears every 4 years, so it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience it as a youth member. It is a week long camp where scouts from all over the world, from countries like America, Japan, Philippines, UK, and more, meet up to share experiences, trade badges, and make friends for life.
It is an incredible opportunity to experience cultures you might never get to experience, to learn about the history of countries, and their traditions. On top of all this, you also learn about the scouting values and many other skills for life.
- How will you be fundraising alongside this fundraiser?
Alongside this fundraiser, myself and my explorer group ( Fusion E.S.U ) will be doing a series of events that support our local community, Such as
- Retail Bag packs
- Bingo Nights
- Shopping Delivery
- Seasonal Arts and Crafts
- Volunteering
and more!
- How much do you have to raise?
Overall, I have to raise £3,500 to be able to attend. This covers many crucial aspects of my experience. Such as prep camps with my unit ( UK UNIT 4 !! ), hoodies, neckers, travel costs, and the overall cost of the jamboree itself.
Myself, my explorer group, and my family will appreciate any support given towards my goal, even if its just sharing this page with friends!
Thank you,
- Hollie Hughes `♡´
