In May, my daughter Anna (age 12) and I are taking on a 150 mile bike ride cycling challenge across The Netherlands to raise funds for Prevent Breast Cancer Charity.

The four day adventure will begin in The Hoek of Holland (North Sea Coast) and will see us pedalling along the iconic Maars long distance cycle route to Nijmegen near the German border. The journey will take us through the historic floodplains, along dykes and past traditional Dutch towns and villages. This is far from a guided tour, it's just the two of us, our bikes and gear, totally unsupported! We'll try and navigate the Dutch cycle path network and hopefully not get too many punctures along the way!

After my own diagnosis of breast cancer in August 2024, we have chosen to support the charity Prevent Breast Cancer, the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer. Our goal is to help fund the ground breaking research that will protect future generations from having to face a diagnosis like mine.

We would be so grateful for any donation, no matter how small. Every penny you give, will go directly to the charity to fund ground-breaking research into early detection and preventative lifestyle interventions.
